FONALIZE TRADE-IN TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Trade-In Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply when you use the Fonalize trade-in service (“Service”). By participating in our trade-in program, you agree to the following:

1. Eligibility

1.1 You must be at least 18 years old and the legal owner of the device you are trading in. 1.2 Devices that are stolen, lost, blacklisted, or linked to fraudulent activity are not eligible. 1.3 Fonalize may reject any device that fails verification or does not meet the declared condition.

2. How the Trade-In Process Works

2.1 Full Payment Required First

  • You must pay the full amount for your new device when placing the order.

  • Trade-in credit is not deducted at checkout.

2.2 Receiving Your New Device & Trade-In Pack After payment:

  • Your new device will be shipped.

  • A Trade-In Pack will be included, with prepaid return packaging and instructions.

2.3 Transfer & Secure Your Data Before sending your old device:

  • Transfer your data to your new phone.

  • Sign out of iCloud, Samsung, Google, and any screen locks.

  • Perform a full factory reset.

2.4 Sending Your Device Back

  • Use the provided packaging and return the device within 14 days of receiving your new device.

3. Device Condition Requirements

Your trade-in value is based on the device model and condition. Devices must be:

  • Fully functional

  • Not Activation Locked

  • Free from undisclosed major damage

  • Matching the condition selected online

If your device does not meet the expected condition:

3.1 Return Postage Fee If the trade-in is rejected or you decline a revised offer:

  • A £9.99 return postage fee applies to have the device sent back to you.

4. Inspection & Verification

4.1 All devices undergo checks for:

  • IMEI authenticity

  • Condition accuracy

  • Activation lock & account removal

  • Stolen/blacklist status

4.2 If the device fails verification, we will:

  • Contact you with a revised trade-in value, or

  • Return the device once the £9.99 return postage is paid.

4.3 Devices identified as stolen/blacklisted will not be returned and may be passed to the authorities.

5. Payment of Your Trade-In Value

If your device passes inspection, payment will be made via bank transfer within 3–5 business days.

6. How to Remove iCloud / Google / Samsung Accounts

Your device must be fully unlocked from all accounts before sending. Here are the required steps:

6.1 Remove iCloud (Apple ID) – On the Device

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap your Apple ID name at the top.

  3. Scroll down and tap Sign Out.

  4. Enter your Apple ID password.

  5. Confirm and disable Find My iPhone.

Remove iCloud Remotely (via Web) If you no longer have the device in hand:

  1. Go to iCloud.com.

  2. Sign in and select Find Devices.

  3. Choose your old iPhone from the list.

  4. Click Erase iPhone.

  5. After it erases, click Remove from Account.

6.2 Remove Google Account – On the Device (Android)

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts.

  2. Select your Google account.

  3. Tap Remove Account.

  4. Perform a factory reset.

Remove Google Account Remotely (via Web)

  1. Visit myaccount.google.com.

  2. Go to Security > Your Devices.

  3. Select the old device.

  4. Click Sign Out.

  5. Remove the device from your Google account list.

6.3 Remove Samsung Account – On the Device

  1. Go to Settings > Samsung Account.

  2. Tap the menu (three dots) > Sign Out.

  3. Enter your password.

  4. Confirm.

Remove Samsung Account Remotely (via Web)

  1. Visit account.samsung.com.

  2. Sign in.

  3. Go to Devices.

  4. Select the old phone.

  5. Click Remove Device.

7. Customer Responsibilities

  • Ensure all accounts are removed.

  • Back up your data.

  • Reset the device to factory settings.

  • Package the device safely.

  • Provide accurate condition details.

  • Fonalize is not liable for any data left on devices.

8. Fraud, Stolen, or Blocked Devices

If your device is flagged as:

  • Stolen

  • Lost

  • Insurance-claimed

  • Blacklisted

  • Fraudulent

We may:

  • Hold or surrender the device to authorities.

  • Decline payment.

  • Request proof of ID or proof of purchase.

9. Amendments

Fonalize may update these terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on fonalize.co.uk.
